Gutter Installation Process

Remove Old Gutters (if applicable)

If your home already has gutters, the first step is to carefully remove them. This involves detaching them from the fascia board and downspouts, and taking care not to damage the underlying roof or fascia.

Check for Damage and Prepare the Area

The fascia board will be inspected for any signs of rot or damage. Any issues will need to be addressed before new gutters are installed.

Measure and Prepare Gutter Materials

We will measure the eaves of your house to determine the exact length of gutters needed. Any pre-cutting or bending of gutter sections will be done during this stage.

Install Gutter Brackets

Metal brackets are securely fastened to the fascia board at regular intervals. The spacing and type of brackets used will depend on the size and weight of the gutters being installed.

Install the Gutters

The gutters are carefully placed onto the brackets and secured using screws or rivets. If necessary we will use a sealant along the seams where gutter sections meet to prevent leaks.

Install Downspouts and Downspout Elbows

Downspouts are vertical pipes that channel water from the gutters down to the ground. Elbows are used to connect the gutters to the downspouts and direct water flow away from the house. Downspout outlets are cut into the gutters at designated locations to connect them to the downspouts.

Seal and Secure Downspouts

The connection points between gutters, elbows, and downspouts are sealed to prevent leaks. The downspouts are securely fastened to the house wall using straps or brackets at regular intervals.

Clean Up and Inspection

Once the gutters and downspouts are installed, the work area is cleaned up of debris. We will perform a final inspection to ensure everything is properly secured, slopes correctly for drainage, and there are no leaks at the seams or connections.
